Snooker ShowJumping

What is Snooker Show Jumping?

A series of coloured show jumps are set-up and is one is given a colour according to its difficulty.

Red coloured fences are the most straight forwards and the smallest. Black are the most difficult. Competitors are required to jump as many fences as possible in the time allowed. Points are awarded as follows

Red 1 point, Yellow 2 points, Green 3 points, Brown 4 points, Blue 5 points, Pink 6 points, Black 7 points

However as in normal snooker it is necessary to jump a red fence before a coloured one. For example you have to start off by jumping a red fence followed by a green then another red followed by a blue then a red one again and so on. this scenario would earn 11 points in total. Therefore the best possible scenario would be to jump red then black throughout the time allowed.

All obstacles can be jumped any number of times and where possible in either direction. The winner of the class is one who scores the most points. If an obstacle is knocked down the points awarded will be deducted from the total score and the fence will be un jumpable for the rest of that round.

It is designed to allow riders to design their own course and only jump fences they feel happy with. It also allows riders to set their own pace and allows horses to start with small fences and gain confidence during the round.

Why not join in the fun and give it a go, there will be plenty of people around who can explain the rules if you are still unsure.

Classes start at 12 noon. In class 1 the red fences will be approx 1ft 3 and black fences about 2ft 3 with the colours being everything in between. Heights for the second class will be 2ft 3 for red fences and 3ft 3 for black. Approx start time is 1pm.

Entry for each class is £6.00 and taken on the day.

Rosettes to 8th place and for all clears.
